Felin Fach Griffin - To Do...
Hay Bluff to the East, Pen Y
Fan to the West – between the Brecon
Beacons and the Black Mountains, the Felin Fach Griffin
is four miles from the historical town of Brecon and eight miles
from the bibliophile’s haven of Hay on Wye. The Brecon Beacons
and Black Mountains National Parks are heaven for lovers of the
outdoors. There is endless walking in these most dramatic surroundings.
In
Hay on Wye - town of books you will be able to find
almost any book you care to read. Maybe browse the selection of
antique shops or just soak up the atmosphere of this delightful
Welsh border town.
The market town of Brecon
puts on the world renowned
' Brecon Jazz festival '
in August, pulling famous names from the world of Jazz. There
is also an excellent museum celebrating the history of the South
Wales Borderers Regiment, (of Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana fame),
a cathedral and farmers market.
The area is just ideal for all
outdoor activities: canoeing
on the river Wye, caving in the Beacons, climbing all
over South Wales. The Brecon and Monmouth canal offers the opportunity
of lazy days with stunning views from a canal boat. There is sailing
and windsurfing on Llangorse lake just 7 miles from Felin Fach.
For the more leisurely there are cold drinks
on the lawn in Summer and long lunches by the fire in Winter.
